Assessment
Dr. Day has extensive
experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments. He has
completed psychodiagnostic assessments, assessments for insurance purposes,
assessments for Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), risk assessments
for use by Corrections Canada and the National Parole Board, and assessments
used for treatment purposes.
Psycho-diagnostic assessments:
Dr. Day has over ten years experience conducting comprehensive psychological
and diagnostic assessments in university teaching hospitals, dual diagnosis
centers, forensic environments, and outpatient settings. Dr. Day has completed
hundreds of extensive psychological assessments integrating information
from a thorough clinical interview, a structured diagnostic interview
(i.e. SCID-1), file information, and psychometric testing. Dr. Day possesses
experience and expertise administering and interpreting comprehensive
instruments assessing psychopathology and personality functioning (i.e.
Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 , Personality Assessment
Inventory, Millon Multiaxial Clinical Inventory-III, and the NEO-PI)..
He also has completed a large number of assessments of intellectual functioning
; academic achievement ;, memory functioning and assessments for specific
types of psychological symptoms (i.e. depression, PTSD). Dr. Day has also
had extensive experience completing structured SCID-I interviews, which
systematically and comprehensively assesses for psychiatric symptoms and
provides clinical diagnoses based on objective and evidence-based information.
Psychological
Assessments for Insurance Purposes:
Dr. Day has completed psychological assessments with WSIB clients and
individuals who have had motor vehicle accidents. These evaluations often
address questions assessing an individual’s current psychological
symptoms and whether these symptoms are related to compensable workplace
incidents/motor vehicle accidents. Dr. Day has completed over a hundred
assessments used for insurance purposes. Dr. Day has also been hired as
a consultant to complete DAC assessments and to complete independent psychological
evaluations that were used for insurance purposes.
Risk Assessments:
Dr. Day has conducted forensic research, assessments, and treatment with
convicted criminals. Dr. Day has been employed as consultant to complete
risk assessments for the National Parole Board. These assessments were
used by the Parole Board in determining whether an inmate would be released
into the community or remain in custody. These assessments were conducted
with violent and sexual offenders incarcerated in the federal penitentiary
system. Dr. Day has extensive experience administering and interpreting
psychological instruments (such as the Hare Psychopathy Checklist-Revised;
HCR-20; RRASOR; VRAG) that research has found predict an inmate’s
risk of committing future violent and sexual offences.
